Coach Tim Lee Steps Down

The Central Michigan University Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Tim Lee has stepped down from his postition at the helm of the program. There are absolutely no hard feelings between team and coach, as Coach Lee is taking a step back from lacrosse due to a shift in his career that may take him away from the team. He will remain someone the team looks to for advice in the future and will always be remembered fondly. Coach Lee led the team to an 8-13 (3-5) record over two seasons and coached 8 All-CCLA players. Highlights of his time as head coach include defeating CMU's main rival Western Michigan two years in a row.

The Chippewas would like to extend their gratitude to Tim Lee and wish him luck as he begins a new chapter in his life.

CMU Men's Lacrosse Season Ends

The 2011-2012 season ended for the Chips on a low note with a four game losing streak to bring the team's final record to 4-6. The season, for all it's ups and downs gives the Central faithful hope as the team will be returning a very young, skilled core of players that includes now juniors Evan Davis (Defense/University of Detroit Jesuit), TJ Braun (Midfield/Saline), James Gentile (Midfield/Saline), Kyle Harris (Attack/Saline), Anthony Seling (Midfield/Catholic Central) and now sophomores Ryan McGee (Goalie/Traverse City Central) Kent Woody (Defense/De La Salle), Doug Mullen (Attack/Catholic Central), and Ryan Steele (Defense/Jacobs HS, Illinois).

The team graduates only a handful or seniors, but will feel the loss of these players as they move onto a new stage in their lives. These players are captains Scott Brakora (Defense/Troy), Dane Woody (Midfield/De La Salle), Jeff Wood (Attack/Catholic Central), Nick Culp (Midfield/Rochester HS), Zach Ritten (Defense/Milford), and Sean Coates (Goalie/Royal Oak). The team would like to thank these players for all they have done for the program! Good luck guys!

The team is now looking forward to a summer full of off season workouts and various summer leagues with the hopes of challenging for the 2013 CCLA championship and building the CMU Lacrosse tradition.

Fire up Chips!
